Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Aberdeen Workshop is recruiting a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician for a permanent role, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

You will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a range of vehicles in a modern, fully equipped workshop, with ongoing training and development opportunities and a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 qualification in light or heavy vehicle work.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs and routine maintenance.
• Full manual UK driving licence; HGV experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• You'll perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles and equipment.
• You'll use your toolkit to carry out routine maintenance and repairs on light and heavy goods vehicles.
• You'll have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in the workshops.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Aberdeen Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours:

Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks)

Two Shifts Available:

Shift 1

Rotational Shift - Week 1: 06:00 - 14:30 and week 2: 13:00 - 21:30 Monday to Friday.

Shift 2

Late Shift - working between 13:00 - 21:30 Monday to Friday.

Whilst Saturday working is not currently expected, flexibility may be required should this be introduced at a later date.

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
