Job summary

Octane Recruitment is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician in Hertford to join a busy workshop. The role involves servicing, maintaining and repairing vehicles to exacting standards, with a focus on accuracy and customer communication.

You will work Monday to Friday with Saturdays on a 1-in-4 rota, earning up to £42,000 with potential to reach £50,000 OTE. The environment offers world-class training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills required.
• Great attention to detail with ability to meet efficiency targets.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs to high standards.
• Diagnose faults and inspect key components accurately.
• Provide clear technical advice to customers when needed.
• Deliver outstanding service to build trust and repeat business.
• Collaborate with reception and workshop teams for smooth operations.
• Mentor other Vehicle Technicians with knowledge sharing.

Your day-to-day as a Vehicle Technician

• Complete vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs to the highest standards
• Diagnose faults and inspect key components with accuracy
• Deliver clear and professional technical advice to customers when required
• Provide outstanding service, building trust and repeat business
• Work closely with the reception and workshop teams for smooth daily operations
• Support and mentor other Vehicle Technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise

What we’re looking for

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Strong eye for detail with the ability to meet efficiency targets
• Team-focused, with great communication skills
• Valid UK driving licence
• MOT licence is an advantage, but not essential
