Job Title: Vehicle Technician

Location: Hull

Salary: £35,429 per year + 25% pension

Overview

A skilled and reliable Vehicle Technician is required to support the repair, servicing, and maintenance of a large fleet of vehicles and plant machinery. The role involves ensuring a high standard of workmanship while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and legislative requirements. Applicants from all backgrounds, including ex-military personnel, are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide variety of vehicles, including light commercial vehicles, HGVs, and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose faults using mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Complete mechanical repairs, component replacements, and vehicle inspections.
  • Perform MOT-related work (if qualified).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
  • Support the upkeep of a fleet of approximately #removed# vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Ensure work is completed to required safety and quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure the fleet remains operational and available.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant and recognised mechanical/engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Ability to remove, refit, and repair mechanical components.
  • Confidence in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
  • Full current driving licence.
Desirable
  • Previous HGV technical experience
  • HGV/LGV licence
  • IRTEC certification
  • MOT tester's certificate
