Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in Staffordshire to join our Autocentres team. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics and handle complex repairs including brakes, engine and electrical work.

The role requires a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time served) and a clean licence. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for progression within Halfords.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repair work, including clutches and timing belt replacements.
• Carry out diagnostics and repair work on electrical systems, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Undertake complex repairs and component replacements as required to keep vehicles safe.

• Comprising a base salary of £34,000.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
