Job summary

Halfords in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic who can service and repair vehicles, and perform diagnostics and more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements, with work spanning brakes, steering and suspension. You’ll need a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or time-served equivalent) and a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.

The role is full-time, five days a week (closed Sundays), with an uncapped bonus scheme and extensive

• Experience as a Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic capabilities (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair tasks.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles and carry out diagnostics and repairs.
• Perform more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas like electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Work is five days a week at Stoke-on-Trent site (closed Sundays).

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
