Job summary

Halfords is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the UK. You will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs, including clutches, timing belts, and complex electrical work.

A Level 3 qualification or time‑served experience is required, along with a clean driving licence. We offer an uncapped bonus scheme, progression opportunities, and benefits including generous annual leave and employee discounts.

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent
• Must have a full driver's licence with no more than 9 points
• Experience as a Technician/Mechanic with diagnostic abilities (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs/replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical).
• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement tasks with confidence and accuracy.

• On-target earnings up to £38,700
• Comprising a base salary of £32,000
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £6,700 per year.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.
