Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic at our Stafford Autocentre. You will service and repair vehicles, perform diagnostics, and handle complex tasks such as clutches, timing belts, and electrical work to keep customers on the move.

You must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience, plus a full driving licence with ≤9 points. The role offers a base of £31,480–£33,290 with an uncapped bonus averaging £6,600 annually, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must hold a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and complex repairs.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair work on vehicles at Halfords Autocentres.
• Carry out diagnostics and complex repairs (clutches, timing belts, electrics).
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
