Job summary

Halfords in Dumfries is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to service and repair vehicles. You’ll carry out diagnostics and jobs such as clutch and timing belt replacements, working across brakes, steering and suspension.

You should hold a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or have time-served experience, plus a full driving licence with up to 9 points. The role offers a base salary of £32,500 with uncapped bonus and OTE up to £39,200.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driver's licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced technician able to diagnose brakes, steering/suspension, engine and perform complex repairs.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
