Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Oban is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic on a permanent basis. Join the UK's largest fleet operator and work in a modern workshop environment.

You’ll perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles, using your own toolkit alongside specialist workshop equipment. A full UK manual licence is required, and there is a structured annual training plan and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic: advanced level (Level 3) in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Proven vehicle technician experience on a wide range of vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs.
• Access to specialist tooling and workshop equipment.

We're recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Oban Workshop on a Permanent contract.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Working 07:00 until 15:30 Monday to Friday.

Occasional Saturday working may be required to support business needs during busy periods.

• You'll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You'll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You'll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you're fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You've got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV
• MOT Tester qualification would be advantageous; however, applications are welcomed from candidates who do not currently hold this qualification
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you're able to work on a flexible shift rota. You're always willing to support your team where necessary.
