Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Aberdeen Workshop on a permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime. Working hours are full-time with two shifts and a 39.5 hour week.

You will inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair a range of vehicles, trailers and equipment in a modern workshop. You’ll bring Level 3 qualifications, ownership of a toolkit, and a flexible approach to shifts.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Level 3 mechanic in Light/Heavy vehicle or equivalent.
• Own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Valid UK manual driving licence; HGV licence with trailer experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs on light/heavy vehicles.
• Access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in modern, fully equipped workshops.
• Flexible to service demands and shift rota to support the team.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic atAberdeen Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time

• 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks)

Two Shifts Available

• Shift 1 Rotational Shift
• Week 1 6:00
• 14:30 and week 2 13:00
• 21:30 Monday to Friday.Shift 2Late Shift
• 21:30 Monday to Friday.

Whilst Saturday working is not currently expected, flexibility may be required should this be introduced at a later date.

A bit about the role

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A bit about you

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
