Job summary

Royal Mail in Sheffield Workshop is seeking a Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician to join on a permanent contract, with the chance to earn up to £60k with overtime. The role covers a full range of inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs across a fleet of vans, LCVs and HGVs in a modern, fully equipped workshop.

Working hours are full time 39.5 hours per week with a rotating shift pattern; you will use your own toolkit and have access to specialist tooling, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Fully qualified mechanic to Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle (or equivalent).
• Experience on a wide range of vehicles, including LCV/HGV.
• UK manual driving licence; HGV licence preferred.
• Flexible to service demands and able to work a rotating shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance on light/heavy goods vehicles.

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Sheffield Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £60k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks) Rotating shift pattern;

week 1: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Friday
week 2: 13:30 - 22:00 Monday to Friday
week 3: 08:00 - 16:30 Wednesday to Sunday
week 4: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Friday
week 5: 13:30 - 22:00 Monday to Friday
week 6: 08:00 - 16:30 Tuesday - Thursday and Saturday and Sunday

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
