Job summary

Royal Mail Huntingdon Workshop is seeking a Level 3 qualified mechanic to join our permanent team. You will work a 39.5 hour week in a rotating shift pattern, with 1 in 3 Saturdays, and have the opportunity to earn up to £58,000 including overtime.

The role involves inspecting, diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles, using your own toolkit, and accessing modern workshop equipment. A UK driving licence and solid vehicle experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent).
• Must have own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Proven vehicle technician experience on a wide range of vehicles.

Responsibilities

We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Huntingdon Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £58k including overtime.

Working Hours:

Full time - 39.5 hours per week hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:24, week 2: 13:36 - 22:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
