Job summary

Royal Mail Aberdeen Workshop is recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic on a permanent contract. You’ll work full-time (39.5 hours) across two shifts, earning up to £45k with overtime and a shift allowance. Qualifications

• Qualified mechanic at Level 3 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Use personal toolkit for routine maintenance and repairs on light/heavy vehicles.
• Access specialist tooling in modern, fully equipped workshops.

Are you looking for stability and variety in your next move? Join the largest, and greenest, fleet operator in the UK and take on a new challenge in a commercial vehicle workshop environment. We’re recruiting a Level 3 qualified mechanic at Aberdeen Workshop on a Permanent contract, with the potential to earn up to £45k including overtime.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks)

Two Shifts Available:

Shift 1 Rotational Shift - Week 1: 06:00 - 14:30 and week 2: 13:00 - 21:30 Monday to Friday.

Shift 2 Late Shift - working between 13:00 - 21:30 Monday to Friday.

Whilst Saturday working is not currently expected, flexibility may be required should this be introduced at a later date.

• You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.
• You’ll use your own personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair light / heavy goods vehicles.
• You’ll also have access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in our modern, fully equipped workshops.

A Bit About You

• Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
• Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.
• Valid UK driving licence: You hold a full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience.
• High working standards: you take pride in your work and do what is necessary to make sure the job is done effectively.
• Flexible to service demands: you’re able to work on a flexible shift rota. You’re always willing to support your team where necessary.
