About the Company: Take the reins of a large-scale vegetable operation, shaping decisions from field to harvest while advancing your career within a highly successful family-owned farming business.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Vegetable Farm Manager to take a leading role in a well established, vegetable farming operation based in the North East of England. This hands‑on position blends strategic planning, crop management, and operational leadership to ensure efficient, sustainable, and fully compliant production, consistently delivering the high‑quality produce the business is known for.

Responsibilities:

  • To plan and execute crop production cycles from field planning and planting schedules through to harvest delivery, including rotations and variety selection
  • To monitor and optimise crop performance by assessing plant health, soil conditions, and pest pressures while overseeing irrigation and nutrient programmes
  • To coordinate harvest operations with production teams to meet quality specifications and delivery timelines
  • To lead and develop farm teams including staff and contractors, maintaining high standards in safety, efficiency, and operational excellence
  • To ensure compliance and documentation across all industry certifications, health and safety protocols, audits, and record‑keeping systems

Qualifications:

  • A strong background and knowledge of crop management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively and efficiently
  • Experienced in farm machinery and field operations, willing to work hands‑on as needed
  • Highly organised with a strong eye for detail
  • The capacity to think proactively and problem solve
  • Passionate and driven by agricultural advancements and technologies
  • Positive attitude, self‑motivated with a strong initiative
  • Dedicated and reliable with a desire to learn and develop within the role
  • Full UK driving licence

Preferred Skills:

  • BASIS and/or FACTS qualified
  • PA1/PA2 certificates

Pay range and compensation package: A competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with the successful candidate's level of experience, with house allowance as required.
