Underwriter/deal structurer – asset based lending

Overview

Our client, a well-established, growing commercial finance provider, seeks an experienced underwriting and deal structuring professional to join their asset based lending team in the South East.

Responsibilities

• Act as a conduit between the new business team and the credit committee, structuring and completing acceptable credit applications in line with the company’s credit policy.
• Carry out collateral assessment, financial forecasting, and in-depth analysis of complex financial accounts.
• Collaborate with the business development team and risk teams to negotiate and structure complex lending transactions and ensure effective processes are in place.
• Prepare accurate legal documentation, negotiating with internal and external legal teams.
• Operate with a lending mandate and oversee other technical areas of credit and risk.

Qualifications

• Previous underwriting experience in a similar lending environment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to support your view.
• Occasional travel around the country.
