VWFS UK is seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team. In this pivotal position, you’ll ensure our organisation stays fully compliant with UK Data Protection laws and regulatory requirements.

You’ll be the trusted advisor to business units and senior leaders, support our DPO in fulfilling statutory duties, and lead key initiatives from managing personal data breaches to overseeing risk and engaging with regulators.

Qualifications

• Proven experience providing data protection advice within Compliance/Legal functions.
• Excellent understanding of ICO guidance, codes and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert guidance on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist in Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead data breach assessment, oversight, and reporting to senior forums.
• Act as main contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation matters.
• Develop second-line monitoring to assess compliance and drive improvements.
• Liaise with ICO on complaints and regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance to resolve privacy issues.
• Drive continuous improvement of data protection compliance and operations.
