VWFS UK is seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team. You’ll ensure adherence to UK Data Protection laws, support the DPO, and lead initiatives from breach management to regulator engagement.

You’ll provide expert guidance, work with business units and senior leaders, and drive continuous improvement in privacy, compliance, and risk management within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience providing data protection advice within Compliance or Legal.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Able to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Ability to research, analyse, interpret and present regulatory information clearly.
• Comfortable challenging views and interpreting regulatory guidance accurately.

Responsabilités

• Provide expert guidance on UK data protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead data breach oversight and reporting, including MI reporting to senior forums.
• Act as a key contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation related to data protection.
• Develop and execute second-line monitoring to assess compliance and drive improvements.
• Liaise with the ICO on complaints and regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance across the business to resolve data protection issues.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance data protection compliance and efficiency.
