Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Residential Support Worker in Bexhill-on-Sea to support women affected by domestic abuse and complex needs. The role is sessional and contract-based, requiring compassionate, resilient individuals with safeguarding awareness who can work calmly and independently.

The post involves trauma-informed, person-centred support within a refuge and local community, with duties spanning relationship-building, skills development and safeguarding.

• Ability to work independently within a team.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, professional relationships with residents and provide person-centred support.
• Deliver daily living skills, wellbeing activities and social engagement.
• Encourage confidence, independence and resilience in residents.
• Welcome and induct new residents into the service.
• Conduct welfare checks and maintain a safe environment.
• Record information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
• Respond calmly to challenging situations and collaborate with partner agencies.
• Act as Fire Warden and First Aider when required.
