Job Description

As a Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day coordination and planning of our national fleet. • Monitor fleet activity using the Transport Management System (TMS) and GPS tools.
  • Adjust plans dynamically to accommodate changes, delays, or new consignments.
  • Collaborate with operations, HR, and management teams to maintain staffing levels and vehicle availability.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance and driver training days to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Support continuous improvement through data analysis and performance reporting.
About You

You'll be a confident communicator and proactive problem-solver, with a knack for planning, precision, and keeping operations running smoothly — even under pressure.

What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience in transport or route planning within logistics, distribution, or haulage.
  • Strong understanding of UK & EU driving laws, tachograph rules, and vehicle capabilities.
  • Knowledge of dual-compartment temperature-controlled vehicles is highly desirable.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Proficiency with TMS software and GPS tracking systems.
  • A logical, analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
