Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Transport Planner to support a construction and mining equipment client based in Derby. The role involves end-to-end logistics management, including shipping and customs documentation. Successful candidates must have strong organizational skills and proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel. This position offers a pay rate of £16.85 per hour PAYE, or £22.87 per hour Umbrella, and requires on-site work 5 days a week in a flexible shift arrangement.

Job description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Transport Planner for a leading multi‑national construction, mining equipment and engine manufacturing client based in Derby.

This is an initial 12 month contract position working on site 5 days a week.

Shift 1 – Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 16:30 (30 minute break) Friday 08:30 – 16:00
Shift 2 – Monday to Thursday 10:30 – 18:30 Friday 11:00 – 18:30
Once fully trained, candidate will be working 1 week of shift 1, 1 week of shift 2.

Pay Rate is £16.85ph PAYE or £22.87ph Umbrella.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities
  • End to end responsibility of planning and shipping of customer orders to our global network of distribution and OEM partners, liaising with various internal departments including customer services, warehouse, transportation, and external customers.
  • Completion of export documentation: proforma invoices, labels & shipping notes.
  • Liaising with customers and carriers to arrange and ensure time‑sensitive bookings are adhered to.
  • Facilitate the freight invoice process in line with carrier invoices through to payment, managing and highlighting exceptions through to resolution.
  • Flexible work approach to support time‑sensitive deadlines and the needs of the business; may require working different times throughout the day to ensure customer shipments leave on time.
Education/Experience
  • Ability to use own initiative and resolve problems.
  • Organisational and administration skills.
  • Able to contribute positively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated thorough attention to detail when working in a pressurised environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of using SAP.
  • Export regulation knowledge.
  • Customs warehouse experience.
