Job summary

A leading UK training organization is seeking a full-time trainer for Royal Navy Weapon Engineers based in Fareham. The role entails delivering expert training in Weapon Systems Control Principles, focusing on practical and theory-based instruction. Full-time role, 37.5 hours a week on a term time only basis

Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster - You'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of Royal Navy Weapon Engineers by delivering expert training in Weapon Systems Control Principles. This role focuses on guiding Royal Navy students through their Phase 3 career courses across all four WE department cadres, ensuring they gain the knowledge and confidence to excel in their operational roles.

What you'll be doing
  • Deliver training on primarily RN Control Systems in support of the RN Weapon Engineering (WE) Department.
  • Delivering both practical and theory based training
  • Using data, information and insight on the performance of individual establishment, to drive continuous improvement and learning across Royal Navy training.
  • Working collaboratively with Learning and Development, Training Delivery staff, to identify and support a personalised approach to learning and development, focussing on the learner journey based on accurate assessments of the particular knowledge, skills and understanding that every trainee brings.
  • Communicating and representing the needs of Weapons Engineering Training to the Delivery Team Leader
  • Supporting and advising on the piloting and implementation of modernised training courses within establishment
What we're looking for
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience of maintaining Control systems.
Desirable experience
  • Level 4 teaching certificate or equivalent (will be enrolled onto internal training course if not held).
  • Military Weapon Engineering Control Systems or equivalent experience
  • Understanding RN WE departmental workings or equivalent experience.

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata'd and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
