Position

Apprentice Operative

You’ll gain hands‑on experience in the production of concrete, aggregates, asphalt and other essential building materials. Learn how to meet technical specifications, ensure product quality, and operate safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Build a solid foundation in Safety, Health and Environmental policies and prepare for a rewarding role in our industry.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the safe and efficient operation of a ready‑mix concrete plant.
• Learning to lead RMX operations and ensure the safety of all site personnel and visitors.
• Assisting with toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Managing daily production tasks such as stock ordering, inspections, and defect reporting.
• Helping to manufacture high‑quality concrete in line with technical standards.
• Contributing to operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintaining plant availability through inspections and scheduled maintenance.
• Keeping the site clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
• Working both inside and outside, sometimes in dusty or confined environments, with full protective clothing provided.

Qualification

Mineral Processing Mobile and Static Plant Operator – Level 2 Apprenticeship.

Travel to the National Skills and Safety Park, Macclesfield (NG20 9JF). Accommodation and travel expenses will be provided.
