A specialist fire protection services company is seeking a Trainee Fire Door Surveyor to join their growing team in Milton Keynes. The role involves surveying various buildings for fire door conditions, providing excellent customer service, and utilizing Bolster software for data collection. Ideal candidates should have a Building Services degree or relevant experience, IT literacy, and strong communication skills. Full training and career progression opportunities are offered, along with healthcare and company benefits.
Location - Milton Keynes area (with potential travel further afield including some overnight stays)
Salary - Starting £26,000 + Company van + Bonus
A fantastic opportunity has arisen here at NEO Property Solutions as we look to grow our Surveying team. As a Trainee Fire Door Surveyor you will travel to customer premises throughout the Milton Keynes area to survey the site and report back ready for our team of joiners and fire stoppers to complete the installations.
This is an ideal role for someone with a Building Services degree that is looking for that first step in to industry, or an experienced Fire Stopper / Joiner that would like to move away from the tools.
The role requires a mix of great customer service skills, good administration and lastly a keen eye for attention to detail.
In the role of Fire Door Surveyor, you will visit multiple building types comprising student accommodation, housing association premises, care homes, public buildings, schools, supermarkets and universities to perform condition surveys on fire doors.
In the case of occupied housing blocks this will include flat entrance doors, where you will be required to meet predetermined access protocols and customer care procedures when liaising with customers and gaining access to perform your surveys.
The surveys you perform will be collated through the use of "Bolster" software accessible through a smart phone application. Once located on floor plans, each door will be tagged, enabling you to assess condition against a series of prompts and approved repair techniques. Taking approximately 10 minutes to complete, each survey will require you to obtain measurements, supported by photographic records.
Often working on your own, you will be required to maintain regular contact with your line manager and members of our planning team to maintain records of outputs, validate survey results and finalise reports before submission to our clients.
This role will suit motivated team players with good organisation skills that use initiative to meet predetermined targets.
