A community health trust is seeking a Trainee Epilepsy Specialist Nurse to support patients in managing their epilepsy. This role involves linking patients with doctors, developing clinical skills in assessment and treatment of epilepsy, and co-writing professional development plans. Ideal candidates will be passionate about patient care and willing to grow within the organization, which values diversity and flexible working arrangements.
We are looking for a skilled Nurse to join our Epilepsy Service as a Trainee Epilepsy Specialist. We are a team of specialist nurses with expertise in the care and treatment of epilepsy and our administrative team. We offer a service to clients in Kent and Medway. We provide a link between the person with epilepsy, the consultant neurologists and the GP giving advice and monitoring medicine changes. This is a development role where you will train and acquire specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment, treatment and management of people with Epilepsy.
You will have a professional development plan that is co‑written with the Specialist Epilepsy Nurse, setting clear goals within set timeframes to meet the clinical objectives. Once you have achieved Epilepsy clinical knowledge, skills and competencies within 1 year to 18 months of starting you will progress to a Band 6 within the service as a new specialist.
