We are currently seeking additional Trainee Behaviour Support Workers for work within our partner Primary Schools across Kent

About the role

We are currently seeking additional Trainee Behaviour Support Workers for work within our partner Specialist Primary Schools across Kent.

The Trainee Behaviour Support Worker role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as ASC, PMLD, MLD and Social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1 : 1 setting with a range of ages and levels of learning.

Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils, as well as ensuring they are not displaying any triggers or signs of unease.

Our main aim is to offer the best possible support to pupils. In order to be successful for this role a nurturing, patient and empathetic attitude will be key.

About the school

These mainstream Primary Schools are accessible via public transport as well as offering free parking onsite. They support a diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviours.

We are continually seeking quality caring staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full‑time or even supply support staff members.

Requirements
  • Wanting a career supporting children
  • Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service.
  • Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
  • Recent experience obtained within the last 2 years of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting. References must be obtainable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding: all staff undergo thorough interviewing, referencing checks and Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
