Job summary

BEAR Scotland is seeking a Design Technician to join our North West Trunk Road Unit on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will develop priority defect repairs and design traffic signs to keep the trunk road network safe for all users.

We offer a hybrid working pattern (40 hours per week) and support professional development, with opportunities to study for HNC/HND in Civil Engineering and gain Full UK Driving Licence, plus a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Opportunity to study for HNC/HND in Civil Engineering if not already qualified.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of designs, including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and Operations Instructions to enable repair of traffic signs and other defects.
• Compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
• Compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.
