Job summary

BEAR Scotland Limited is seeking a Pavement Engineer to join our Northwest Trunk Road Unit in Perth on a full-time, permanent basis. You will design pavements, coordinate investigations and prepare technical reports for Transport Scotland, reporting to the Pavement Manager.

You will inspect assets, develop design solutions, and coordinate rotary coring, FWD testing and GPR surveys. A Civil Engineering degree and professional qualification progress (ICE or equivalent) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in highways maintenance or asset management desirable.
• Hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICE).
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills to interpret technical data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections of pavement assets and infrastructure.
• Develop and deliver pavement design solutions in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate pavement investigations, including rotary coring, FWD testing, and GPR surveys.
• Analyse survey data and prepare technical reports for Transport Scotland.
