Job summary

Intact Insurance in Gloucester is seeking an Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team. You’ll underwrite and negotiate agricultural business within your authority, identify growth opportunities, and build and maintain broker relationships to drive profitable outcomes while upholding service excellence.

You’ll apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques, collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting from Commercial or Personal Lines is required.
• Commercial mindset with ability to identify growth areas and drive new business.
• Ability to build and maintain broker relationships or existing broker connections.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and negotiating new and existing Agricultural business within authority.
• Build and maintain excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and support broker team ideas.
• Represent our brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience either working in Underwriting from a Commercial or Personal Lines
  background or experience of agricultural insurance from a claims or
  underwriting background.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify areas for growth and driving
  new business.
• The ability to build and maintain Broker relationships or ideally have existing
  relationships with brokers
