Job summary

Intact Insurance in Gloucester is seeking an underwriter to steer Agricultural business within your authority, building strong broker relationships and applying prudent pricing to drive profitable growth.

You will collaborate with colleagues, support broker teams, and participate in broker meetings, industry events and field visits, with hybrid working and a focus on service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting: Commercial or Personal Lines, or agricultural insurance from claims/underwriting background.
• Commercial mindset with ability to identify growth areas and drive new business.
• Ability to build and maintain broker relationships, ideally with existing broker networks.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and negotiating new and/or existing Agricultural business within your authority.
• Building and maintaining excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Applying pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborating with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contributing to process improvements and supporting broker team ideas. Representing our brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience either working in Underwriting from a Commercial or Personal Linesbackground or experience of agricultural insurance from a claims orunderwriting background.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify areas for growth and drivingnew business.
