Job summary

Intact Insurance in Leeds is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team. You will influence underwriting decisions and help shape the future of the business while driving team success through collaboration and broker engagement.

The role focuses on underwriting and negotiating Agricultural/Commercial business, building broker relationships, applying pricing strategies and risk assessment, and contributing to process improvements. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting Commercial or Personal Lines background or agricultural insurance experience.
• Commercial mindset with ability to identify growth and drive new business.
• Ability to build and maintain broker relationships or existing broker connections.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and negotiate new and/or existing agricultural or commercial business within authority.
• Build and maintain excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and support broker team ideas.
• Represent the brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed.

Your skills and experience:

• Experience either working in Underwriting from a Commercial or Personal Linesbackground or experience of agricultural insurance from a claims orunderwriting background.
• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify areas for growth and drivingnew business
• The ability to build and maintain Broker relationships or ideally have existingrelationships with brokers
