Job summary

Intact Insurance in Birmingham is recruiting for a Commercial Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting team on a hybrid basis. You’ll assess Property & Casualty risks, build broker relationships in the Midlands, and apply pricing strategies to drive profitable growth.

As a permanent member, you’ll benefit from an annual discretionary bonus, pension contributions up to 11%, flexible hours, and 25 days leave plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience of Property & Casualty from an underwriting or broker background.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with brokers.
• Ability to apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and negotiate new and/or existing Property & Casualty business within your authority.
• Build and maintain excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Apply pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contribute to process improvements and support broker team ideas.
• Represent our brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed.

• The ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers
