Intact Insurance UK in Birmingham is recruiting a Commercial Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting team on a hybrid basis. You will assess and negotiate Property & Casualty risks within your authority.

The role emphasizes broker relationships, pricing strategies, risk assessment, and collaboration with colleagues to improve underwriting practices. We offer support for career development and a flexible, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience of Property & Casualty from an underwriting or broker background.
• A sharp eye for detail and a head for strategy.
• Relationships with Brokers in the Midlands region would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and negotiating new and/or existing Property & Casualty business within your authority.
• Building and maintaining excellent broker relationships through regular engagement.
• Applying pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth.
• Collaborating with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices.
• Contributing to process improvements and supporting broker team ideas.
• Representing our brand at broker meetings, industry events and field visits as needed.
