The University of Salford is looking to appoint a skilled and reliable Electrician to join its in-house Estates Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large, diverse university estate, helping to keep buildings safe, compliant and fully operational for staff, students and visitors. Estates & Facilities provides a comprehensive service across the University, covering maintenance, compliance, capital projects, cleaning, security and caretaking. The maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring the campus is safe, welcoming and fully functional every day.
As qualified electrician with a strong practical background and a positive, customer‑focused approach, you will carry out a wide range of planned preventative and reactive electrical works across a varied and interesting estate, including teaching, research, residential and specialist facilities. The role is varied, covering everything from routine inspections, fault finding, repairs and minor installation projects. You will be part of a professional in‑house maintenance team consisting of plumbers, electricians and joiners and supported by handypersons, as and when necessary.
