Job summary

Howdens Joinery is seeking a Business Developer to grow local depot business by engaging trade customers, both in person and by phone. You will generate leads, arrange appointments and nurture relationships to convert conversations into opportunities and sales.

The role sits within a busy depot team and collaborates with Kitchen Sales Designers and Territory Sales Representatives. You will be engaging with customers, promoting products and events, and supporting admin tasks while contributing to

Qualifications

• Confident communicator both on phone and face to face.
• Proven ability to turn conversations into opportunities and drive sales.
• Commercial mindset focused on adding value and growing spend.
• Self-motivated, positive and proactive attitude.
• Organised with ability to manage customer activity and pipelines.
• Comfortable working to call targets and activity levels.

Responsibilities

• Call existing trade customers to build long-term relationships and grow future business.
• Use customer data to spot inactivity and bring accounts back on track.
• Manage a targeted customer list and achieve daily call activity levels.
• Keep up to date with customer projects to identify opportunities to add value.
• Arrange surveys and appointments for Kitchen Sales Designers.
• Promote products, offers and events to keep customers engaged.
• Support administration, including invoicing and depot tasks.
• Work closely with the wider team to help hit targets and deliver great service.
