Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Aberdeen is seeking a Trade Operative to join our Responsive team as a Plumber. You will work across communal areas and tenanted properties, carrying out repairs and installations to plumbing systems.

The role is mainly lone working within a 14-strong team; a full training plan is provided, plus a company van and power tools to get the job done. Applicants must have relevant qualifications or be willing to undertake SVQ Level 3.

Qualifications

• Must hold SVQ Level 3 in a core subject or be willing to undertake the qualification with Sanctuary.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
• Good communication and customer care skills.
• Recent experience in undertaking a similar role.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocked when needed.
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or initiating resolution steps, keeping customers informed.
• Provide accurate and timely information on the progress of works in a way easily understood by the customer.

Trade Operative – Plumber

£34,205 - £36,006 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We have an opportunity for a Trade Operative to join our Responsive team, based in Aberdeen. You will work in both communal areas and tenanted properties working with new and old stock, with skills in some of the following disciplines: plumbing, Toilet repairs, sink repairs and bathroom & kitchen replacements. The role is mainly lone working but within a wider team of team of 14. A full training plan will be provided along with a company van and power tools to enable you to get the job done.

The role of Trade Operative – Plumber will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in a core subject or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower-level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
