Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Trade Operative - Groundworker to join the Day-to-Day Repairs Team. You will carry out groundworks, external repairs and maintenance across our properties, using a company van and equipment provided to deliver safe, high-quality work.

Ideal candidates will have CDM 2015 compliance, CVs in garden drainage, and a relevant qualification (SVQ2 or equivalent) with driving licence.

Qualifications

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to SVQ Level 2 in a core subject or currently undertaking the qualification.
• Experience with garden drainage
• CPCS or NPORS certification would be beneficial
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of groundworks and external repairs, including paving, kerbing, concreting, fencing, drainage, and reinstatement works
• Delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocked
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Trade Operative – Groundworker

£34,205 - £36,006 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 16:30pm

We're looking for a skilled Trade Operative - Groundworker to join our Day-to-Day Repairs Team based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse housing portfolio throughout Central and West Scotland, helping to keep our homes, estates, and surrounding environments safe, functional, and well maintained.

Working both independently and as part of a wider team, you'll carry out a variety of groundworks, external repairs, and maintenance activities across our properties. From repairing pathways and boundary fences to drainage works and reinstatements, no two days will be the same. With a company van, tools, and equipment provided, you'll have everything you need to succeed in the role.

The role ofTrade Operative– Joiner will include:

• Carrying out a wide range of groundworks and external repairs, including paving, kerbing, concreting, fencing, drainage, and reinstatement works
• Delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services across occupied and void properties, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified toSVQ Level 2 in a core subject or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower-level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
• Experience with garden drainage
• CPCS or NPORS certification would be beneficial
• Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
• Good communication and customer care skills
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
• This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
