Job summary

Sanctuary Group is hiring a Multi-Trade Operative based in Salisbury, covering postal areas SP, SO, RG, BH. The role focuses on day-to-day reactive maintenance across properties, with duties spanning carpentry, painting, bricklaying, plumbing and general upkeep.

The ideal candidate has a strong plumbing background, multi-trade experience, and knowledge of health and safety regulations. A company van and tools are provided, with a 40-hour week and route duties.

Qualifications

• Must have NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). Plumbing Level 3 if required must show Unvented - G3 and WRAS; bring original certificates to interview.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance in line with contract specs.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
• Respond to complaints and breakdowns, resolve problems or initiate resolutions.
• Provide accurate updates on work progress that are easy to understand for customers.
• Embrace emergency call out rota (approx. 1 in 13/14 weeks).

Multi-Trade Operative

Salisbury Based - covering postal areas SP, SO, RG, BH - Other Area Coverage could be required from time to time.

£35,579 - £37,452 per year

40 hours per week-Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across Hampshire. In this role you will be working as part of a team with some lone working also required. These works are Day to Day reactive maintenance on our properties and duties include carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background as their primary trade, complemented by experience across a range of multi-trade disciplines.

Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Emergency call out rota, which will be approximately 1 in every 13/14 weeks.

Skills and experiences:

• To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
• Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous
• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
• Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering
• Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
