Overview

Daytime Healthcare are assisting a specialist childrens SEN school who are looking for a Therapy Assistant to join their team in Cranleigh, Surrey.

In this role, you will be contributing to the provision of a therapy service to students in the school and college. Working under the direction of the class teacher and allocated therapist, you will be required to deliver and support individual, large group or whole class therapeutic activities. Our children have different learning disabilities, including some students who are non-verbal.

You will have the ongoing support of a skilled and dedicated team. Comprehensive training and mentoring includes learning about safeguarding, autism and positive behaviour support are provided.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support individual, large group or whole class therapeutic activities under the direction of the class teacher and allocated therapist.
  • Contribute to the provision of a therapy service to students in the school and college.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs, including non-verbal students.
  • Work as part of a skilled and dedicated team, maintaining safeguarding and welfare standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • No prior experience is necessary as full training will be given.
  • A positive “can do” attitude, along with physical and mental resilience, is essential.
  • This role might suit someone who has recently finished their degree or has been working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant and is considering a move into therapies or an SEN environment.
  • Starting salary is based on previous experience.
Schedule

Your working week is 35 ½ hours during term time with the following pattern: 08:30 – 16:00 on Monday, 08:30 – 16:15 on Tuesday to Thursday, and 08:30 – 15:45 on Friday. In-Service training days apply, plus 30 minutes per week that can be worked flexibly to suit operational needs.
