Job summary

The post holder will have responsibility for leading, facilitating and developing education, training and workforce development across the Theatre Departments at Southport and Ormskirk sites.

The role will provide visible clinical and educational leadership, ensuring staff are supported to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Experience leading education, training and workforce development in perioperative care.
• Ability to provide visible clinical and educational leadership across theatre services.
• Skilled in developing staff knowledge, skills and competencies for safe care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate education, training and workforce development across Southport and Ormskirk theatres.
• Maintain a 50% clinical role within theatre services.
• Support student placements and practice learning environments.
• Lead on medical device training and competency assurance.
• Promote evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement.
• Support workforce planning, succession planning and staff retention.
• Contribute to policy development and clinical governance.
• Develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
• Support achievement of operational, quality, workforce and financial objectives.
• Act as a professional role model for perioperative care and education.
