Job summary

The North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a perioperative professional to support theatre checks, setup and patient advocacy across Nightingale and CSTM theatres. The role focuses on the perioperative journey, documentation, and teaching responsibilities within a busy elective surgical department.

Qualifications include an ODP registration or management degree in anaesthetic settings, with evidence of teaching ability.

Qualifications

• ODP registrant or diploma/degree in management of the patient in anaesthetic settings (NMC registrants)
• Evidence of ability to teach in practice

Responsibilities

• Participate in perioperative management of patients.
• Complete perioperative theatre checks.
• Set up the theatre alongside the theatre team.
• Complete theatre documentation in digital and paper formats.
• Contribute to advocacy and patient-centred care for patients undergoing anaesthetic and surgical procedures.
• Work within the multidisciplinary team to contribute to effective patient care.
• Use communication skills to promote patient safety and theatre efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, usable department and follow infection control.
• Support students and colleagues through teaching.
• Complete e-learning, regular training and professional development.
• Work flexibly in a fast-paced department as service needs change.
• Report to team leaders for daily theatre tasks
