Job summary

Healthcare Management Trust in Grimsby is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner to lead the theatre team, role-model clinical practice and drive safe, high-quality perioperative care.

You will work across anaesthetics, recovery and scrub with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient experiences and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the relevant professional body (NMC/HCPC) and a healthcare qualification.
• Diploma or degree level education or equivalent.
• Experience in a theatre leadership or senior clinical role.
• Proven ability to scrub across multiple surgical specialties including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, urology, spinal, plastics, general, minor vascular and ENT.
• Ability to teach, support and assess others in scrub techniques.
• Experience working with clinicians and colleagues at different levels of seniority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
• Commitment to reflective practice and continued professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the theatre department and ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Act as a clinical role model, supporting colleagues and promoting best practice.
• Collaborate with the Theatre Manager, surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver outcomes.
• Drive service improvements, staff development and operational performance.
• Support the department's objectives across anaesthetics, recovery and scrub specialties.
