Qualifications

  • Experience with SpecFlow, BDD, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC/STLC processes is required.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and ability to query databases.

The Role: Test Lead

Salary: £60,000 per annum

Location: This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with regular collaboration in our Derby office at least three days per week. (Applicants must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Monday - Friday.

What will you be getting up to?

As Test Lead, you’ll take ownership of our testing strategy and lead a talented team to ensure the quality and reliability of our software. You’ll work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality outcomes across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire: Manage and mentor a team of testers, creating a collaborative, results-driven environment.
  • Crate and champion an automation strategy to take Motorpoint to the next stage of its technological evolution.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of testing activities.
  • Shape Our Testing Approach: Define and maintain test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project goals.
  • Drive best practices across manual and automated testing.
  • Deliver Quality: Oversee functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Manage defect lifecycle using tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Provide clear reporting on test progress, risks, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate & Communicate: Work closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Innovate & Improve: Identify opportunities for automation and performance testing.
  • Champion continuous improvement in QA processes.

What do we need from you?

  • Proven experience in software testing and QA leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of manual and automation testing (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and SDLC/STLC processes.
  • Proficiency in test management tools (Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of SQL and ability to query databases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • ISTQB certification (Advanced) is desirable.
  • Experience with SpecFlow, BDD, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
