Test Engineer – Aerospace & Naval Components | Permanent Role

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum
Hours: 38 hours per week, 4-day working week (Mon–Wed: 7:30am–6:00pm, Thu: 7:30am–4:00pm)
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role

Teem Recruitment is working with a leading engineering company to recruit a PCN Level 3 Test Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern, well-equipped testing facility and play a key role in ensuring the quality of precision-engineered components for the naval and aerospace industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non‑destructive testing (NDT) including Dye Penetrant Testing to PCN Level 3 standard
  • Carry out destructive tests such as tensile, shear (single and double), and metallurgical (Mets) testing
  • Operate and maintain advanced testing equipment
  • Complete accurate documentation and certification for all tests
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements
  • PCN Level 3 certification in Dye Penetrant Testing
  • Experience in both destructive and non‑destructive testing
  • Knowledge of aerospace and naval component standards
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with PMI testing
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, and BSEN standards
  • Previous work in defence or aerospace sectors
