Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a skilled Telematics Technician to join their engineering team. The role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting telematics systems for a diverse fleet across the UK. Candidates should have hands-on experience in electronics or auto-electrical fields, proficiency with GPS systems, and the ability to read technical documentation. This position requires travel to various sites, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Solid hands-on experience in electronics, auto-electrical, or a similar technical trade.
  • A good grasp of telematics, GPS, and automotive electrical systems.
  • Confidence reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and commissioning telematics units on a varied fleet of vehicles and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining systems to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Monitoring performance and alerts through the Targa Telematics platform.
  • Diagnosing technical issues on-site and getting things back up and running fast.
  • Taking full ownership of installation projects from planning to completion.
  • Training and supporting on-site teams so everyone knows how to get the most from our systems.
  • Keeping accurate logs of installations, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Travelling to UK sites as needed for installs, upgrades, and system checks.
  • Working safely and in line with airport regulations and company standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001).
