A UK-based utility service provider is seeking a Telecommunications Planning Technician for an 8-month fixed-term contract in Preston. The role supports the delivery of infrastructure developments within the Cable and Fibre Planning Team, assisting Engineers with surveys and documentation. A background in DNO technology, Voltage Distribution Network understanding, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. The role of Planning Technician is to support the delivery of infrastructure developments within the Cable and Fibre Planning Team. The role is to assist the Engineers with associated surveys, site visits and supporting documentation to maintain and evolve the current SP ENW Bearer Network and ensure that the Bearer Asset Management within the department is both current and fully documented.
The successful applicant will be expected to work predominantly under the direction of the Bearer Planning Engineers and Delivery Engineers.
Flexibility is paramount with this role as although there will be a predominance of office based work, some travel and site work will be necessary to satisfy the requirements.
