Job description

We're looking for a new Technician to join our friendly team in the newly-formed Centre for Sustainable Soils at Lancaster Environment Centre to work on a NERC 'Pushing the Frontiers' project investigating soil carbon dynamics in forests.

The project seeks to resolve how trees that associate with different types of mycorrhizal fungi on their roots influence soil carbon pools.

Responsibilities
  • support a Senior Research Associate to deliver research objectives
  • help establish and maintain experiments in lab, greenhouse and field
  • assist with sampling soils and vegetation, including working with collaborators at the Birmingham Institute for Forest Research FACE facility
  • Analyse soils and plants for a range of traits
