Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing client who is seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join their technical leadership team.

This is a key role within the business, reporting directly to the Technical Manager and providing support and cover in their absence. The successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining technical standards, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the site remains fully audit-ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Technical Manager and deputise in their absence when required
  • Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all policies and procedures are current, compliant, and effectively implemented
  • Lead site HACCP activities, including reviews, validations, and ongoing compliance
  • Own and manage the internal audit schedule, ensuring robust standards and continuous audit readiness
  • Support and lead external visits, including customer audits and BRC audits
  • Manage the site complaints system, ensuring timely investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
  • Lead, manage, and develop members of the technical team, promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across the site
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience managing and leading a technical or quality team within food manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of BRC standards and HACCP, with hands‑on experience
  • Previous experience working to retailer standards is essential
  • Confident supporting and hosting customer and third‑party audits
  • Highly organised, detail‑driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
