Job description

GAP Lifting Hire & Sales offers one of the largest ranges of lifting equipment and accessories in the industry. From small shackles and slings to material lifts and aluminium gantries, the division has everything our customers need for lifting any size of load. Reporting directly to the Technical Sales Manager, the Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) will be responsible for maximising Lifting hire revenue opportunities from existing major account customers and winning new business.

Responsibilities

The TSE will deliver sales presentations to our major account customers at a senior management level, attend depot/customer trade days to promote our product offering, and work with Regional Sales Managers and their sales teams to ensure proactive promotion of hire opportunities for Lifting equipment within their existing customer base.

Location

This position covers Newcastle & Whitehaven; candidates should be suitably located in this area.

Requirements
  • Significant experience working in a sales role within the hire industry is essential
  • Knowledge of Lifting, Powered Access or Hoists is highly desirable
  • Proven track record in exceeding sales targets and generating revenue growth by maximising opportunities from existing customers and winning new business
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Effective negotiator and problem solver capable of working under pressure and prioritising workload
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word) and CRM systems
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Background in Lifting or Hoists preferred, but open to candidates from the wider hire industry
