The Role

The purpose of this role is to service and support customers throughout their entire claim journey, from start to finish. This includes making outbound calls to advise customers of claim outcomes and handling inbound calls from both customers and veterinary practices. As the department is still in its early stages, we are looking for positive, adaptable individuals who are excited to help shape the future of the team and work collaboratively as we evolve. The main responsibility is to assess and validate Pet Insurance claims, gathering any necessary information efficiently and accurately. A strong candidate will be able to achieve productivity targets while adhering to the claims process, demonstrating self‑motivation and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide flexible support across the contact centre, stepping in to manage claims and customer communication channels to mitigate backlogs and guarantee service levels to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Review incoming claims either by phone or online and ensure they are settled within Service Level Agreements.
  • Communicate confidently with customers by phone showing empathy and understanding.
  • Assess new and continuation claim submissions by reviewing all claim documentation supplied.
  • Collate information from customers and veterinary practices to assess claims.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate payment of valid claims, query anomalies, and decline invalid claims.
  • Identify potentially fraudulent claims and follow agreed referral processes.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service through accurate and timely information.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with colleagues, customers, and veterinary practices, promoting a professional image.
  • Develop and maintain a competent level of technical, product, and system knowledge, and be able to explain policy cover to customers.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support evolving business needs, including ad hoc requirements.
