Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee and deliver technical solutions across a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects. You will provide technical leadership, ensure design and delivery standards are met, and work closely with project teams to resolve complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical function across multiple projects, providing engineering guidance and oversight.
  • Review and approve designs, drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality requirements.
  • Support project teams in resolving technical issues on‑site and in design coordination.
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and develop junior technical staff to build internal capability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation.
  • Produce accurate technical reports and maintain clear project documentation.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Proven experience in a Technical Manager, Senior Engineer, or similar role within civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civils, groundworks, or utilities construction.
  • Ability to read, interpret and challenge designs and drawings.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading or supporting project teams and mentoring technical staff.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety practices.
